Former Brazil and Chelsea midfielder Oscar has retired at 34 after cardiac issues, São Paulo confirmed on Saturday.
Oscar was hospitalized last November after fainting during a medical exam, with doctors diagnosing vasovagal syncope. He has not played since.
“I am ending a career here in São Paulo that has taken me practically to the four corners of the world,” Oscar said.
The playmaker won two Premier League titles and the Europa League with Chelsea, three Chinese Super League crowns with Shanghai Port, and returned to São Paulo in 2025.
Capped 48 times for Brazil, he lifted the Confederations Cup and featured at the 2014 World Cup.
