Jinja Comprehensive Secondary School lifted the boys’ football title in the 2026 Jinja City USSSA football championship at Kyabazinga stadium, Bugembe on Wednesday, 1st April.
A 2-0 score-line was all Isaac “Ozil” Kitekuule’s coached side needed to win the derby contest before hundreds of spectators.
Hassan Waiswa and Reagan Ssekajja were on target in the 35th and 39th minutes respectively.

To reach the final, Jinja Comprehensive S.S edged Jinja Progressive Academy (JIPRA) 1-0 courtesy of George Ikwagati’s strike.
On the other hand, Jinja Secondary School ejected Lake Side S.S Masese in post match penalties after normal time had ended 1-goal apiece.
Jinja Comprehensive SS eliminated Jinja City Parents SS 1-0 during the quarter finals, thanks to Reagan Ssekajja’s goal.

Eight schools (all the quarterfinalists) from Jinja City made it the Busoga region championship that will be hosted in Kamuli District.
The Busoga region has schools from Iganga, Kamuli, Jinja, Mayuge, Luuka, Kaliilo, Namutumba, Bugiri, Namayingo and Buyende.
The best four schools will qualify for the national championships due in Lira city come May 2026.
“The first target of winning the Jinja city title is now done. I salute the players, my fellow coaches, school management and the fans for the push in anyway possible. Now, we eye the Busoga regionals with the objective of qualifying for the nationals” Kitakuule disclosed.
Over 60 schools will converge in Lira for the USSSA national championships this year.
Meanwhile, Jinja Progressive Academy (JIPRA) won the girls’ football title, overcoming Jinja Comprehensive 1-0 in the final to deny them a possible double.
Lyton Nandejje was the goal scorer for JIPRA.
