Shakib Lutaaya slams breakup rumors with Zari Hassan, says couple is still committed

Socialite and businessman Shakib Lutaaya has dismissed rumors that he and Zari Hassan have split, insisting that the couple remains very much in love and committed to each other.

Speaking to Sanyuka TV, Shakib addressed speculation that their relationship ended following tensions with Boss Mutoto in December, an incident linked to alleged robbery at Mutoto’s bar in Munyonyo that saw Shakib summoned by police.

The media and social circles had suggested that Zari, being friends with Mutoto, was upset by the incident, allegedly leading to a breakup.

My wife and I have not separated. The rumors are false. On that matter, just like we didn’t come to an interview to announce that we were officially dating, that’s how we won’t come to the public to tell people that we broke up or are still together. Let everyone think what they want. Let Ugandans stop taking everything they see on social media.

He further warned the media against reporting unverified claims, emphasizing the importance of evidence before publishing personal stories.

Shakib also addressed allegations that he courts other women and asks them for money.

I’m a hustler and I know how to work for myself. I have different businesses that give me money. Most women here in Kampala have bad manners. They are stingy, ill-mannered, so it’s hard for me to be in that level of asking them for money.

On accusations of infidelity, Shakib said, “I’m not a cheater. When I’m in a relationship, that’s it. I’m a lover. If there’s anyone out there who has proof that I courted them or inboxed them, let them bring proof.”
