Shakib Lutaaya has doubled down on his controversial stance that DJing is not a natural talent but rather a skill developed through practice and consistency.
Shakib, who recently ventured into DJing himself, clarified that his comments were not intended to disrespect professional DJs.

Instead, he said that the craft requires dedication, time, and effort to master, qualities he believes define a learned skill rather than an inborn talent.
According to him, no one is born a DJ, but anyone can become one through training and experience.
There is no one who was born to be a DJ, but you go and practice and do it.
To further support his argument, Shakib pointed to personalities such as Sheilah Gashumba, Etania Mutoni, and Lynda Ddane, claiming they transitioned into DJing after building their names in other fields.
He argued that their journeys reflect how DJing can be acquired through exposure and hard work rather than being an inherent gift.
Shakib also used a driving analogy to illustrate his point, noting that repetition and experience naturally improve performance over time.
You can find someone driving a car and they look unsteady, but the more you drive and join races, you learn how to spin at different speeds. That’s because you have done it for a while.
