- Lugazi vs Entebbe – Lugazi stadium, Najjembe 4pm
- Vipers vs Kitara – St. Mary’s stadium, Kitende 8pm
All eyes will be at St. Mary’s stadium, Kitende when table leaders Vipers host second placed Kitara in a top of the table clash under floodlights.
The Venoms come into the game with their only defeat coming in the boardroom against the same opponents following the dramatic fight against a league format that was since abolished.
On 50 points, Vipers are ahead of the Royals by four points which makes this tie one of the few remaining potential deciders.
With either still in the Stanbic Uganda Cup, no team wants to lose in order to keep the league and cup dream alive.
Wasswa Bbosa, a league winner with Express a few years back is aware of what to expect at Kitende.
“They are the champions, we respect that. They have a very good team and technical staff,” he started. “But our target is to win and close the gap on them otherwise defeat will make our season objective difficult,” he added.
Vipers will hope the trio of Karim Watambala, Milton Karisa and Usama Arafat are in fine form to breakdown the Kitara backline manned by former Venom Murushid Jjuuko who revealed the players are motivated to achieve something new.
“As players, we are motivated and want to win at Kitende,” said Jjuuko.
The visitors will rely on Kabon Living, on form George Ssenkaaba and midfielder Emmanuel Wasswa who scored in the 3-0 win over Express in the Stanbic Uganda Cup.
