It is confirmed that Uganda takes on West Africans Senegal in the boys’ final of the 2026 CAF African schools football championship in Harare city, Zimbabwe on Friday, 10th April at the Ngoni stadium.
Uganda, who is represented by Wakiso district based St Mary’s Boarding School Kitende eliminated Benin 4-3 in post match penalties after a goalless stalemate in normal time during the interesting semi-final.
An excited head coach for team Uganda Hassan Zzungu expressed delight upon skipping the semi-final hurdle where they had failed to maneuver last year in Ghana.
“The feeling is so good that we have made it to the final” he exclaimed.
“Last year (2025), we bowed out at the semi-final stage in the semi-finals on penalties and glad that we managed to make it this time round” Zzungu added.

The other semi-final witnessed a white-wash as the physical West Africans Senegal humbled Morocco 4-0 in convincing fashion.
Zzungu is well aware of the physicality posed by Senegal and his tactical master plan will curtain nothing but victory to claim gold.
“We shall go and fight so that we return home victorious. Senegal has played all the editions and we know it will not be an easy fight. They are good physically but we shall play accordingly” Zzungu he spoke.
Uganda’s bold road to the final:
Uganda has so far played four games at the CAF Schools football championship with two victories and two draws.
Uganda opened with a 1-all draw with hosts Zimbabwe in the tournament’s official opener.
They then clobbered Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) 6-0 before triumphing Morocco 3-0.
The semi-final clash with Benin ended goalless in normal before Uganda won 4-3 on post-match penalties.
Meanwhile, the bronze medal match shall be between Benin and Morocco.
Hefty prize money:
The tournament winners (in the boys and girls categories) will each pocket $300,000 (at least Ug.Shs 1.1 billion). The runners up will get $200,000 (at least Ug.Shs 738M) and the third placed will take home $ 150,000 (at least Ug.Shs 554M).
