The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) Referees Disciplinary Panel has handed down a series of suspensions to match officials following officiating errors in recent Uganda Premier League fixtures.

In decisions dated March 23, 2026, the panel cited breaches of match officiating standards across three high-profile matches, with all affected officials receiving three-month suspensions and mandatory refresher training.

The most extensive action stems from the match between Buhimba United Saints FC and Police FC, where six officials were sanctioned.

Referee Musisi Henry, assistants Kinyera Fred and Mbabali Samuel, fourth official Semakula John, match commissioner Kugonza Seemu Christopher, and referee assessor Kimbugwe Hilary Godfrey were all found culpable of breaching officiating standards.

These, allowed Buhimba United Saints substitute to enter the field of play wearing a different jersey colour! Nyonyintono later had a decisive impact, scoring off the bench the equaliser that denied Police FC maximum points.

In another ruling, assistant referee Ongiera Immaculate was suspended following the game between SC Villa and Express FC at FUFA stafium Kadiba. The panel determined that she incorrectly ruled out a legitimate goal for offside, a decision later confirmed as erroneous through video evidence.

Hassan Mubiru, looking at the video replays, was onside when he is put through by Aslam Ssemakula to find the back of the net. The game finished goalless.

A similar case arose in the fixture involving Police FC and SC Villa, where assistant referee Okudra Emmanuel was sanctioned for disallowing a valid goal despite no offside infringement.

Also, by video replays, there is no offside in the build up to Frank Ssebuufu’s goal, a game that ended with SC Villa beaten 1-0.

FUFA stated that all the affected officials will undergo refresher courses during their suspension period, as part of efforts to improve officiating standards and restore confidence in match management.
