  • Nemostars 3-0 Elyon (25-20, 25-22, 25-20)

Nemostars won game three of the National Volleyball League semifinal playoffs to secure a slot in the final.

Nemostars secured a well-deserved 3-0 (25-20, 25-22, 25-20) victory against Elyon in the NVL semifinal playoffs at Old Kampala Arena on Wednesday.

Nemostars came into this game hurting after falling to Elyon in game two as the youthful team levelled the series.

After winning Game One 3-1, they lost Game Two 3-0 in an encounter that looked far from the desired.

It was a largely closely contested game as the two sides went pound for pound, but Nemostars ran away with a 25-20 opening set win.

Going into the second set, Elyon seemed to have worked on their shortcomings but that was short-lived as the Nemostars fought from down to claim the set 25-22.

Going into the final frame, it was a point of tension as each mistake cost hugely and each point mattered more than ever before.

In the final minutes of the encounter, Elyon launched a late charge to try to pull back one, but Geoffery Onapa made a big block in the final play of the game.

Even though Elyon were having their maiden test of the playoffs, Joshua Osia’s charges put up a great challenge against the six-time champions.

After clinching the victory, Nemostars will take on rivals Sport-S in the highly anticipated final.
