Uganda U-17 women’s midfielder Tracy Nabalanzi says the Teen Cranes are making clear tactical progress as preparations continue for their FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers against Zimbabwe.
The team remains in residential camp at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru, where the technical staff are refining key areas of play ahead of the two-legged tie later this month.
Nabalanzi pointed to improvements in how the team builds attacks, with a stronger focus on structured progression and better use of wide spaces.
“Today’s training was good. The coach focused on teaching us progressive football and using the wide areas, and also how strikers can create space in the final third,” she said.
Uganda’s sessions have centred on cohesion, tactical awareness and match fitness, with the squad undergoing intensive drills designed to improve movement and decision-making in attacking situations.
Nabalanzi also stressed the impact of the camp environment on the team’s readiness.
“The camp is really good and the environment is putting us in good shape as we prepare for the forthcoming game,” she added.
Uganda will face Zimbabwe in a double-header scheduled for April 11 and 18, with the winner on aggregate advancing to the next round of the qualifiers.
