Ethiopian Airlines has celebrated 80 years of operation since April 1947, beginning with its first inaugural flight, which was taken from Addis Ababa to Cairo, Egypt. The airline is now the largest in Africa in terms of fleet size, operating a fleet of over 144 aircraft, including Dreamliner Boeing 787, Boeing 777, and Airbus A350, among others.
To sustain its long-term growth, the airline has structured its operations to support not only passenger services but also cargo flights, self-ground handling, an aviation university, in-flight catering services, and the Ethiopian Skylight Hotel, all of which generate additional income.
