Uganda Police Force has updated the nation of their ongoing investigations into the fatal shooting of a mobile money agent Kokunda Patricia.
According to police spokesperson Kituuma Rusoke, there are ongoing investigations into the aggravated robbery and murder by shooting of Kokunda.
On April 3 at about 4:40am, Rusoke said, the victim was attacked, robbed, and fatally shot by armed assailants at Teso Coach Park along Station Road near Goalman Supermarket in Soroti City.
“Since our initial communication, inquiries and the hunt for suspects were intensified by police and sister security agencies,” he added.
In a statement on Monday, the police spokesperson said so far, four suspects have been arrested: Okello Alex and Onego Felix were arrested on the day of the incident, followed by the arrest of Epeu Simon alias Iboda in Anyara, Kalaki district, from whom shs7,000,000 was recovered.
On Saturday April 4, 2026, police arrested the suspected shooter, Elacu Alfred, in Orungo, Amuria district; the victim’s smartphone has also been recovered after being discarded in a bush in Kichinjani.
Outstanding inquiries are ongoing to recover more key exhibits, Rusoke assured the country.
