The Government of Uganda through the Ministry of Trade Industry and Cooperatives in collaboration with other sister Government agencies have launched Simplified guidelines for development of industrial parks in Uganda.
The multi sectoral activity this afternoon involved a number of Government agencies aligned with industrial growth in Uganda.
These Simplified Guidelines strengthen institutional coordination, eliminate procedural ambiguities, and ensure alignment with the national policy and regulatory framework governing industrial development.
The guidelines standardize the approval stages, clarifying institutional roles they enhance predictability for investors, safeguard public resources, and support the development of well-planned and competitive Industrial Parks.
According to the Permanent Secretary in Ministry Trade Industry and Cooperatives Lynette Bagonza, the guidelines are essential in accelerating industrialization, expanding exports, and positioning Uganda as a leading industrial hub within the East African region and the African Continental Free Trade Area.
