11 Passengers confirmed dead in Kasaba bus Lwengo Accident

The Police have confirmed that at least 11 people were killed and 30 others were left with life threatening injured today morning following a road crash at Lwengo District along the Masaka–Mbarara highway.

The Uganda Traffic Police Spokesman Micheal Kananura told journalists that the crash involved a bus, registration number UAL 492H, belonging to Kasaba Bus Company travelling from Rukungiri and a Box-body truck.

Authorities said the injured were rushed to nearby health facilities, while Police is yet to release the identities of the victims or confirm the cause of the crash.

The incident adds to growing concerns over road safety on Uganda’s highways, where crashes have continued to rise despite increased enforcement efforts.
