Hajji Shafiq Kaima, popularly known as “The Mic Lion,” has officially stepped away from television after announcing his departure from Nation Media Group’s Spark TV.
Kaima signed off on Friday night while hosting the Koona programme, marking the end of a significant chapter in his media career.

With nearly 15 years in the industry, he has spent much of that time at Spark TV and its sister radio station, Dembe FM.
However, his exit from television does not signal a complete departure from the media.
Kaima clarified that he will now focus more on radio, particularly Dembe FM, where he says he feels most at home.
Today is my last day on TV. I have been here a long time, but I feel I understand radio better, and I will spend most of my time at Dembe FM.
As “The Mic Lion” bows out from the TV screen, fans can still catch his voice on the airwaves.
We wish him the very best in this next phase of his media journey.
