Share

The Kingdom of Buganda has today marked the 71st birthday of His Majesty Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II, with calls for unity, reforms, and amplifying the voices of ordinary Ugandans.

Despite the rain, subjects from across the kingdom, alongside church leaders and various schools, turned up in large numbers to celebrate the Kabaka. The celebrations, held at St. Nicholas Orthodox Cathedral, were led by the Orthodox Church of Uganda.

The Buganda Premier, Charles Peter Mayiga, informed the congregation that although the King is not ill, doctors have advised that his public appearances be limited.

Here is how the celebrations unfolded.
