12 EACOP activists who were protesting have been convicted

The Buganda Road Court has convicted 12 environmental activists who were protesting against the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) project on charges of common nuisance. The group of students was arrested on 1st August 2025 as they marched to the Stanbic headquarters in Kampala. They have been on remand for about seven months.
