UCMID MONEY: World Bank approves a six-year urban programme

The World Bank has approved a six-year urban development program worth 540 million US dollars (approximately 2.1 trillion shillings) to boost urban development in cities, municipalities, and refugee-hosting districts across the country. The funding will support improvements in road networks, drainage systems, waste management, and local economic infrastructure, such as markets and bus parks, among other initiatives, with more municipalities being included. A total of 49 areas, including cities, municipalities, and districts, are set to benefit
