KCCA FC bounced back to form with a hard-fought 2–1 victory over BUL FC in a Uganda Premier League clash played Wednesday night at Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.
Goals from Ivan Ahimbisibwe and Herbert Achayi sealed maximum points for the hosts, with Denis Ssewagudde briefly drawing BUL level in a tightly contested encounter.
KCCA took the lead at the half-hour mark when Ahimbisibwe powered home a diving header from a well-delivered cross by Saidi Mayanja.
The hosts controlled much of the first half but were pegged back just before the break, as Ssewagudde curled in a precise free-kick from the edge of the area to restore parity.

The Lugogo-based side responded quickly after the restart. Three minutes into the second half, Achayi found the net with a powerful left-footed finish after being released through by Ashraf Mugume.
The result marked a timely turnaround for KCCA, who had entered the fixture on the back of consecutive defeats — a second-round opening loss to NEC FC and a late first-round setback against Entebbe UPPC FC.
Victory lifts KCCA to third place on 33 points from 17 matches, five behind league leaders Vipers SC. The win also offers relief to the technical bench following growing fan frustration over the team’s recent dip in form.
For BUL and head coach Alex Isabirye, the search for a second-round victory continues. They remain winless after their 1–1 draw against Vipers at Njeru last week.
