Nina Roz petitions court challenging Sembabule election results

Singer Nina Roz, born Nina Kankunda, has revealed that she has petitioned the court challenging the victory of Hon. Nambaziira Florence Musoke as the Woman Member of Parliament for Sembabule District.

Speaking during an interview, Nina Roz expressed optimism that the court will deliver a fair ruling, arguing that the Sembabule elections were marred by numerous irregularities.

She alleged that many voters were not given the opportunity to vote freely.

The singer noted that she filed the petition alongside fellow contenders, including Hon. Gorreth Namugga, Hon. Mary Begumisa, and Judde Tumwebaze.

She added that they are hopeful the court process could result in a by-election if the ruling is in their favor.

We are already in court together with my colleagues we contested with, including Hon. Gorreth Namugga, Hon. Judde Tumwebaze, and Hon. Mary Begumisa.

We appealed, and very soon we might have a by-election. People in Mawogola and Sembabule did not vote. We believe the court will do the right thing.

Nina Roz explained that her decision to challenge the results was influenced by similar actions taken by other politicians, including Hon. Geoffrey Lutaaya and Hon. Hillary Kiyaga, who have also contested election outcomes in court.
