Brig Gen Johnson Namanya Released from Detention, Cleared of Allegations
The Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has ordered the release of Brigadier General Johnson Namanya from detention following what officials have described as an amicable and constructive meeting.
According to Chris Magezi, who serves as the Acting Director of Defence Public Information, Brig Gen Namanya has been cleared of all allegations that had been levelled against him. The development brings to an end a period of uncertainty surrounding the senior military officer’s status within the armed forces.
Col Magezi confirmed that the decision was reached after a comprehensive review of the issues in question, coupled with internal engagements aimed at resolving any misunderstandings. He emphasized that the meeting between the CDF and Brig Gen Namanya was cordial and focused on maintaining unity, discipline, and professionalism within the military ranks.
“Brig Gen Johnson Namanya has been cleared of all allegations and will resume his duties with immediate effect,” Magezi stated, underscoring the leadership’s commitment to fairness and due process.
