The Minister for Lands and Housing Hon Judith Nabakooba and the Association of Real Estate Agents have hosted a diplomatic delegation from the International Real Estate Federation and the European Mortgage Federation to explore innovative financing mechanisms for Uganda’s rapidly growing young population.
The Association of Real Estate Agents Uganda is a professional umbrella organization representing real estate agents, managers, brokerage companies, consultants and other stakeholders in Uganda’s real estate sector.
It was established in 2008 and its objectives include enhancing professionalism in the real estate industry, providing capacity-building training for members through the affiliated Real Estate Institute of East Africa.
They also advocate for favorable policies, laws, taxes, financing, and investment frameworks by engaging government and private-sector stakeholders.
The membership is open to practicing real estate professionals who align with the association’s goals, as well as students pursuing relevant studies at institutions such as Makerere University Business School, Uganda Martyrs University and the Real Estate Institute of East Africa, fostering a network that has expanded significantly since inception to influence both public and private sector dynamics.
The Association, is the premier umbrella body in Uganda for Real Estate Agents, managers and professionals aimed at promoting professional, ethical standards, conducts training, and lobbies for policies to develop the real estate sector.
Its purpose is to unify real estate practitioners, ensure ethical conduct, and foster professional development with an objective of lobbying, advocacy, promoting real estate education, ensuring best practices and research.
The Association has been providing training agents, such as the refresher courses provided in collaboration with the International Real Property Foundation.
They connect members for collaborations and work with government to develop the Real Estate industry policies and protect property owners by offering legal support and guidance on contract disputes, disclosures, and ethical dilemmas.
